APKMuse respects the intellectual property rights of others, and we expect our readers to do the same. This page explains our copyright policy under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws, and tells you exactly how to reach us if you believe something on apkmuse.com uses your work without your permission.
Our Content Model
APKMuse is an informational website. Our guides are original text written by our team. We do not host APK files or other app files on our servers. App names, logos and screenshots that appear in our guides belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify and review those apps, which is a standard and fair editorial practice. If, in spite of our care, you believe that any text, image or other material on this site infringes your copyright, the process below will get it reviewed and, where the claim is valid, removed.
How to Send a Takedown Notice
Send your notice by email to admin@apkmuse.com with the subject line “DMCA Notice”. So that we can act quickly, your notice must include all of the following:
- Your full name, and the name of the copyright owner if you are acting for someone else, plus your address, phone number and email address.
- A clear description of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
- The exact URL(s) on apkmuse.com where the material you are reporting appears. Please give full page links, not just the site name.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Notices that miss key parts of this list may be delayed or may not be valid under the DMCA. If you are unsure how to format your notice, send us everything you have and we will tell you what else we need.
What Happens Next
When we receive a complete and valid notice, we review it promptly. If the claim appears valid, we will remove or disable access to the reported material, normally within a few working days, and faster where we can. Where a reader or contributor posted the material, we will try to let them know that it was removed, and why.
Counter-Notification
If your material was removed because of a takedown notice and you believe the removal was a mistake, or that you have the right to use the material, you may send us a counter-notification by email to admin@apkmuse.com with the subject line “DMCA Counter Notice”. It must include:
- Your full name, address, phone number and email address.
- The material that was removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you are located (or, if you are outside the United States, to a competent court for our location), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
When we receive a valid counter-notification, we will forward it to the person who sent the original notice. If that person does not tell us within 10 to 14 business days that they have filed a court action to keep the material removed, we may restore the material.
Repeat Infringer Policy
Where the DMCA or similar laws apply, it is our policy to remove content from repeat infringers and, in appropriate cases, to block them from using interactive parts of the site, such as comments.
Please Note
Sending a false or misleading takedown notice can carry legal consequences for the sender. If you are not sure whether material on this site infringes your rights, we advise you to speak to a lawyer before filing. Copyright questions that are not takedown notices, such as permission requests, can also be sent to admin@apkmuse.com, and we will route them correctly.
